Adelaide Fringe 2017 Poster Competition opens

The Adelaide Fringe Festival Poster Competition for 2017 is now underway, which means there is less than a month to get your entries in for next years design!

In the lead up to the event, the unveiling of the Fringe poster often divides the community with the psychedelic 2016 design by Stephanie Mitchell, 2015’s collaborative retro monster and the 2014 dot inspired pattern by Sharon Moreno all raising debate. One thing that we can all agree on is that the competition winners’ designs have steadily become more digitised when compared to the paint and craft based offerings from the 00’s. But is this set to continue?

The theme for the upcoming festival is ‘Adelaide Fringe: Made By You, With You, For You’… already sounds a little ‘craftier’ doesn’t it? The mind boggles with possibilities!

As the largest open access multi-arts festival in the Southern Hemisphere, the Adelaide Fringe program is defined by the artists and venues who are brave enough to sign up to be a part of the festival.

There’s a sweet $2,000 on offer for the winner, plus a free artist registration to present their own exhibition when the Fringe begins in February. All competition entries must be received by 5pm, Sunday 14 August, so get cracking!
