Introducing Alison

Hi all, I’m Alison. I’ve taken up the role of Digital Designer with the Argon team. I’ve been busily designing away in the office since just before Christmas 2015 since getting back from discovering the dusty depths and breadths of India earlier in the year.

Similarly to the rest of the Argonauts, I graduated from the University of South Australia with a degree in Visual Communication and freelanced for a period before joining the team. My background is in photography, which I love to use on the road, and has taken me throughout Europe and Asia capturing a selection of the images you can see below.

I aim to capture the sensory experience of a moment, an extension of an interest in the slow movement. My most recent trip to India was inspired by the bold attitudes towards colour.

In my short time so far with Argon I’ve worked on a broad variety of projects, such as flyers, Fringe posters, the odd eBook, conference collateral and experienced the wide scope of Greg’s dad jokes. I can only aspire to deliver dad jokes as ripe as these. I am influenced by surrealist metaphysical and sci-fi literature and consequently my designs at times lean toward the abstract. I enjoy the conceptual part of the design process and the problem-solving involved in being able to play with colour and form within the parameters of a brief.
