Working with like minded people

A large part of your life is occupied by earning the almighty dollar. So why not strive to enjoy what you do? It is good for your personal well being to work not only within a great organisation but to partner with clients that are similarly likeminded and that you enjoy working with.

“If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life” – Marc Anthony

Working with The Australia Day Council of SA for the past seven years has definitely produced a strong partnership and one that we at Argon feel is a good fit for our social beliefs. They do so much more than you would think.

As part of our ongoing support we will be promoting and attending their many events throughout the year, that are geared around supporting the community, diversity and awareness. The Australia Day Council of South Australia, is deeply committed to consulting our first nations people, to reflecting our migrant and refugee story and our ancestral connections to our heritage. They believe in shining a light on inspiring South Australians, people who are active in their contributions to society whatever their backgrounds. They are interested in the volunteers who put in the hard yards every year in their communities, the people who are making a difference in the lives of people through their work or activities. These are the people that are nominated each year for the Australian of the Year or the Citizen of the Year Awards. They are an organisation that is keen to showcase Australians at their best, to stand with organisations that are committed to service and who are making a genuine difference in people’s lives. That is why in 2018 they have hosted a range of events, in partnership with Hutt Street Centre and Catherine House, partnered with the Education sectors and brought the extraordinary Eddie Woo to Adelaide, they have showcased some of the most inspiring South Australian women earlier in the year. On November 26th, they will be bringing the Australian of the Year to Adelaide in a not to be missed event with invitations to engage with business leaders and innovators.

So come and join us, grab a few seats or even a table. The Australian of the Year Luncheon is coming up and it is always an inspiring even.

Professor Michelle Simmons

One of the world’s top scientists, Professor Michelle Simmons has pioneered research that could lead to a quantum leap in computing. Since arriving in Australia from Britain 18 years ago, Michelle has transformed the University of NSW Quantum Physics Department into a world leader in advanced computer systems. In 2012, Michelle and her team created the world’s first transistor made from a single atom, along with the world’s thinnest wire. At the forefront of what she calls the “space race of the computing era”, Michelle aims to build a quantum computer able to solve problems in minutes that would otherwise take thousands of years. Such a discovery has the potential to revolutionise drug design, weather forecasting, self-driving vehicles, artificial intelligence and more. An evangelist for Australian scientific research and a role model to young scientists everywhere, Michelle actively encourages all students to dream big, challenge themselves and to achieve ambitious goals in science.
